Two planting styles for a personalised project

To allow the client to compare two distinct atmospheres, our teams developed two planting proposals. The first uses a Mediterranean palette of architectural and flowering plants suited to Monaco’s climate. The second brings together succulents selected for their sculptural shapes, subtle colours and ability to thrive on an exposed terrace.

A carefully planned operation

Before work began, our teams assessed access to the site, the size of the tree and the equipment required to handle it. The project organisation had to take into account the space available in Fontvieille and the nearby buildings. This preparation phase is essential for coordinating everyone involved and selecting the appropriate equipment.

Several cranes and specialised machines were therefore mobilised to move the palm tree safely. Excavation work was also carried out to clear and prepare the area around the tree. Close coordination between the teams played a decisive role in the smooth running of the operation.

A river suggested through glass and light

One of the garden’s central features is a representation of a river made from tinted glass blocks. The composition suggests the movement of water while introducing a contemporary artistic dimension. As the light changes, the glass creates shifting reflections that bring the landscape to life and add depth to the scene.

This approach reinterprets an essential symbol of the Japanese garden without attempting to reproduce it literally. The river becomes a visual thread around which the other elements of the garden are arranged.

Night lighting integrated into the design

The lighting was developed with the landscape architects to reveal the garden after sunset. Carefully positioned lights highlight the volumes, transparent surfaces and main lines of the composition. They give the glass blocks a new presence and create a peaceful atmosphere without distorting the landscape.

Narmino Jardins is very proud to share with you these first photos of its latest major creation: the gardens of the new Cap Fleuri retirement residence in Cap d’Ail. This new building will be managed by the CHPG Monaco and will offer optimal service to its residents. Narmino Jardins intervened to embellish the existing building and fit out the masonry planters and planters located in the surroundings and on the forecourt of the building. The main part was given to citrus fruits, for a little more life and color.
